*Congratulations to Sam Reece for receiving special recognition in the Fiction category of the 2015 High School Literary Arts Awards honoring Young Alabama Writers. The awards ceremony will be held March 18 in the auditorium of the Alabama State Capitol in Montgomery

*Seniors: The FAFSA help event scheduled for this Thurs., Feb. 26 has been cancelled due to lack of participation. However, Ms. Allen will be sure to keep you informed of other community events that may be scheduled in the coming months.
*Seniors: ITT Technical Institute is offering interested Shelby County seniors the exclusive opportunity to take the HESI , which is the entrance test for nursing school. However, you must inform Ms. Allen by this Wed. if you are interested in a nursing career and would like to be included in the test count.
*Come out and support the Montevallo Soccer teams by eating at Buck’s Pizza in Alabaster TONIGHT! The girls and boys team will receive donations from all sales.

*Congratulations to Francis Pope for outstanding performances at the Poetry Out Loud state competi-tion held in Montgomery on Monday (President’s Day). She performed two poems exceptionally well from the Anthology category. Also cheers go out to Sam Reece and Emily Tryon. They received rave reviews for their performances in the Original Oratory category. We ARE Montevallo; and we are proud of these students’ accomplishments.
*There will be a football meeting for anyone wanting to play football in 2015 during 7th period today. If you want to play football you must see coach Zow today.

*Support National FCCLA week by participating in the following activities each day:
TODAY is Red Out for FCCLA. Students wearing solid red will be invited on the practice football field during 7th period and given a gift of thanks for showing their sup-port to FCCLA
