Reminders…
Outside food (Jack’s, Mcdonald’s, Taco Bell, etc.) is not allowed on campus. Furthermore, food transported by any delivery/takeout service, such as DoorDash or GrubHub will be immediately discarded due to safety concerns. In addition, there will not be a reimbursement for the meal. A family member may bring a meal to the school’s main office for unusual instances where the student forgot it at home. Prior to lunch, the office staff will call the student to retrieve the meal. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. 

* The SGA election for next year’s representatives and officers will be Wednesday, May 17th.
Anyone interested in running may pick up a representative OR a student body officer application from outside Ms. Pastor’s room beginning 5th period today. Completed applications are due to Ms. Pastor by the end of 5th period Thursday, May 11th.
Only Seniors with SGA experience may run for President, and any grade level with SGA experience may run for Vice President. Anyone can run for other student body positions and grade-level representatives. All candidates running for student body offices will be required to tape a speech with broadcast to be shown prior to the election.

• This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. All students and parents are invited to show extra gratitude to teachers and staff.
• Students interested in participating in the peer helper program next year need to see Mrs. House for an application.
• There will be a parent meeting on May 16th at 6 pm in the MHS PAC for anyone interested in running cross-country next year. Please see Mrs. House with any questions.
• Girls Basketball Tryouts will be Tuesday May 9th and Wednesday May 10th from 3:30 to 5:00. There are sign-up sheets in Coach Smith and Coach Holt’s rooms for anyone who hasn’t signed up yet.
• The MHS Powder Puff Football has been cancelled.
• MHS Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony will be held at the University of Montevallo’s McChesney Center on May 22, 2023 at 7PM.

I am a alumni of Montevallo High and the University of Montevallo. I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now.
