Attention AP Students: Remember that AP Exam Fees are due to Ms. Allen by

Monday, March 3. It is school system policy and all students enrolled in an AP class take the AP Exam in May.

Attention Juniors: MHS is seeking two outstanding students to represent our school at Alabama Girls State and Alabama Boys State this summer. Ideal candidates are student leaders of high character who have a keen interest in government and civics. Interested students should see Ms. Allen.

Girls interested in trying out for the 2014-2015 varsity cheerleading squad should pick up an information packet in the front office. All paperwork is due to Ms. Pritch-ett by 3:00 on Monday, March 31st. Tryouts are April 1-4th.

Today is the last day to purchase your prom tickets @ $30.00. Beginning Monday price will increase to $40.00 each.

Teachers and Students: Please be reminded that juniors will have their Blueprints meetings today. Please help to support this program.

Junior and Senior Girls: Are you having trouble finding a prom dress? If so, see Ms. Allen by Monday for info on a very expensive option for finding the perfect dress.

All SENIOR SGA members need to meet during 7th period today in Mrs. Pastor’s room.

Any student 17 years old or older can register to vote today+ during lunch. Members of the Shelby County Registrar will be here in the cafeteria to answer questions and register students to vote. All students wanting to register will need to bring a driver’s license.
Srs: Your Senior fee & eXpress card fundraiser are due to Mrs. Eades this

All first semester Art students: if you made a mask and it did not sell you may pick it up from Mrs. Whitson’s room today. After today the masks will be thrown away.

Students: the Jefferson County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will be offering free ACT prep classes on March 1 and March 8 at Lawson State Community College. Register on-line at www.eventbrite.com or see Ms. Allen for more info.
Seniors: The Shelby County Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has two $1000 scholarships available for qualified female applicants with a minimum 3.0 GPA. See Ms. Allen for an application.
Students interested in being a part of next year’s broadcast team need to see Ms. Turner for an application. Appli-cations are due Monday.
Students Who Took The ASVAB: Ms. Allen will be distributing your score reports during the lunch waves today so please be sure to stop by her table. Seniors can get their scores during the senior meeting today.
PTSO meeting Monday the 24th at 6:00 in the MHS Library.
There will be an important SGA meeting today in Mrs. Pastor’s room during 7th period.
Students and teachers: There will be a senior meeting held during 4th period today in the PAC.
Seniors: The Shelby County Education Association has a $1000 scholarship for a high school senior who will be graduating in May 2014 from an Alabama public high school and whose custodial parent, guardian, step parent, or grandparent is an active member in good standing of the Shelby County Education Association. See Ms. Allen for an application. The deadline is March 18.

Prom Tickets will be sold this month for $30 during lunch. Beginning March 1 price will increase to $40.00 each.
Anyone interested in trying out for dance line, majorette, or color guard must see Ms. Britnell for an informational packet before February 18th.
Attention 9th and 10th grade girls: Are you interested in architecture, carpentry, welding, or other construction related fields? If so, you may be interested in the “Girls Can Camp” that will be held at the Shelby County College and Career Center this summer. Spaces are limited. Pick up an application from Ms. Allen.

Feb. 14. Forms can be submitted to your History teacher or to Ms. Allen, and the deadline is Tuesday, Feb. 11!
Seniors: The February edition of the senior newsletter is now available. You can download from Ms. Allen’s blog or pick up a copy in the Guidance Office or library. It contains important dates and new scholarship opportunities.
