The Coupons for Classrooms coupon book fundraiser on sale now through next Wed. for $25. Feb. 17th all 9th grade students will receive a scoliosis screening. Screenings will be conducted by Jeff State nursing students. Any questions or concerns, please contact the school nurse, Dorothy Wilburn.

8th Grade Parent Night will be held TOMORROW Night at 6:30 in the MHS PAC.

Need An Inexpensive Dress Option for Prom? If so, Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood is hosting Cinderella’s Closet this Saturday from 9-2pm. Check out the flyer on Ms. Allen’s door for more info!

Attention Juniors and Seniors: A representative from AUM will be on campus this Friday during both 11th and 12th grade GPS periods. Interested students should sign up in the guidance office and find out what AUM has to offer.

Are you a young lady in 9th or 10th grade looking for a cool summer activity? If so, Girls Can Camp is now taking applications and it introduces female students to construction related careers. There are only 15 spaces and the application deadline is April 17. See Ms. Allen.

Track try-outs will be rescheduled until Wed. Feb 15. See Coach Colley or Coach McCaleb for your paperwork.

Attention Seniors: UAB is offering an opportunity for a summer program for minority students planning to major in a STEM program at UAB this fall. Qualified students can see Ms. Allen for more info.

The Shelby County Literary Magazine is looking for student poetry, short stories, essays, and art to be published in their 2017 edition. All written work must be typed in Times New Roman 12 point font. Art work must be sent electronically. In order to be considered for publication, you must submit your work to any English teacher no later than this Friday, February 10th. All entries will be considered and the top entries chosen on Wednesday, February 15th by professional literary editors. Good luck to all our writers and artists! We would like to see Montevallo students published this year.

ASF The Alabama Shakespeare Festival will be performing -live onstage- Two Gentlemen of Verona. Two Gentlemen of Verona is a crazy love story about two best friends who discover they are in love with the same beautiful girl. Watch is comedy unfold in the PAC on Wednesday, February 15th during 6th and 7th periods. Tickets for the play are only $5. Admission may be purchased during lunch periods from Thursday through Tuesday. Don’t miss out! Come see the stage play Two Gentlemen of Verona performed LIVE in the PAC.

Congratulations to the Boys JV, Varsity, and girls varsity basketball team fro winning all 3 games last night against Prattville Christian. The boys won the regular season area so they will host the area tournament next week. Girls tied for 1st place and will travel to Montgomery Academy next week. Friday game will be here against Briarwood. Senior night against Shelby County has been moved from Monday night to Saturday evening starting with the JV at 2:00. Please come out and support your dawgs!

Be sure to turn in your December and January community service hours in to Mrs. Glover this week.

Are you junior with a minimum 25 ACT score and a desire to participate in an academically stimulating residential program? If so, you could be a candidate for nomination for Alabama Governor’s School this summer. Interested students should see Ms Allen.

Attention Juniors: We now have the opportunity to offer free online ACT prep for students. It is a great tool for you to use at home or at school as you prepare for the ACT. If you would like to have a personal account set up, please sign the registration form outside the Guidance Office this week.

Seniors-if you are planning on going to Six Flags your $30 deposit and permission slip is due by Friday at 3. The permission slip is on the Senior Google Classroom.
