Attention Students: The After School Detention will be Monday, Nov. 1 at 3:05
p.m.

School picture orders are due to Mrs. Fricke by Tues., November 2. Pictures can be viewed and ordered through the Belmont website, but the I.D. number from the proof is needed to do so.


FCCLA is having a Bake Sale next week benefitting Wreaths Across America. They will be selling brownies for $1; cake pops for $1.50, 4 small cookies for $2.00, and 1 large cookie for $1.00. Orders will be take during lunch Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Orders will be delivered Friday at the end of 6th period.

BooGrams will be delivered on Friday and the remaining bags will be for sale after lunch on Friday. Money raised will go towards Wreaths Across America!

Boy’s soccer tryouts TODAY at 6 at the baseball fields at Orr Park. You must turn in a physical and have a dragonfly account in order to try out.

There will be a Model UN meeting after school tomorrow in Ms. Pastor’s room from 3-4:30 pm. Bring your completed and signed Acknowledgment and permission form with you. If you were not able to attend the interest meeting during LEAD on Friday, please see Ms. Pastor in room 107 for information.

For every event entered and completed you will receive a raffle ticket and enter to win an ipad, Beats earbuds, Wireless speaker, or other prizes. See your coach or SRO for a sign up form.

When you see a band member give them a high 5. This weekend they participated in the hardest competition this season. All superior ratings across the board. (Majorette, Colorguard, danceline, drum major, percussion, and overall band.) Alexis Langley received Best in Class for majorette and the 2nd highest score of the day. Band came in 3rd in their division.

The Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum Pumpkin Patch coordinators are seeking volunteers for the Pumpkin Patch. Contact information was sent via email to students from Mrs. Walker. Make sure to call or email if you are interested in volunteering.

Please sign up via the Google invite that was emailed to you if you are interested in attending. Check in with your 3rd period teacher before reporting to library.

their school and community. Interested students should have a willingness to help others, promote a positive school climate, and have a 2.5 GPA. We want a program that represents our diverse student body. See Mrs. Walker for an application. Deadline to apply is Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

Tomorrow during LEAD, there will be a meeting with Ms. Pastor in the PAC for anyone interested in joining the Model UN Academic Team. Go to your LEAD class on Friday to check in first and you will be called out by an announcement on the intercom.

October 18th – 22nd is College Application Week for all seniors in the state of Alabama. Many colleges in our state and surrounding states will waive application fees this week for all students applying for college.
MHS Seniors will work with Mrs. Walker and Dr. Hamer on completing FAFSA and college applications this week in the library. Attached is a QR Code which will provide you with a listing of all colleges participating and their code if one is required for applications. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Walker.

*E-Day for all 9th & 11th graders

Students will be required to complete E-Day assignments.

The following students will report to MHS for testing:

10th Grade – PreACT
12th Grade – WorkKeys

*Students have received a check out form. This form must be returned by Oct
6th. Students who return the form will be released at the end of the testing
session.

Due to E-Day Thursday, Student Impact, 1st Priority, and Encounters with
God will meet tomorrow morning for a bible study in Mrs. Cabrera’s room. Come in as soon as
you get to school.

Pep Club membership has been extended…students please bring your $10 to join by tomor-
row. Teachers purchasing a shirt please turn in money by Friday.

Would you like to win some prize money writing an essay or performing a speech on US Histo-
ry? Contact Mr. Martin for details.

Next week is homecoming week!
Dress up days are as follows (dress code still applies):
Tuesday– Twin Day
Wednesday – Gender Swap
Thursday – Grade level wall and float themes (see your grade level SGA representatives and
grade level homecoming teacher sponsors)
Friday– Fancy Friday ( anything dressed up or outrageous like seen at the Met Gala)
Powderpuff practice on Sunday and Monday, and the gam e w ill be Wednesday at
6:00 p.m. at the stadium. See your grade level homecoming sponsors for permission forms and
to pay your $5 to participate as a player, a cheerleader, or as a coach. Seniors, we need more
players! Please see Ms. Pastor.
Homecoming parade and community pep rally on Thursday, Oct 14! Parade starts
at 6:00 p.m., line up on Valley between the school and the ag building at 5:00 p.m. pep rally
will be in the stadium following the parade.

Don’t forget grade levels are competing in all of the activities which include: daily dress up par-
ticipation, wall judging, float judging, canned good drive and coin drive sponsored by FBLA, powder puff team winners, and winners at class competitions during the pep rally.
Let’s all join in next week and make homecoming a great week for MHS!

On  our upcoming E Day, Thursday, October 7th, all 10th grade students, and select 12th grade students will participate in standardized testing assessments. All sophomores will take the Pre-ACT and select seniors will take the ACT WorkKeys assessments. Workkeys is a one of several qualifications for students to graduate and be considered College and Career Ready (CCR).  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Walker.
