Beginning Jan. 2022, MHS will implement additional guidelines regarding student check-
ins. Students who report to school after 8:15 a.m. will only be allowed to check themselves in 3 times. Upon the 3rd late arrival, a conference will be held with the parent to discuss
tardiness, Early Warning Court, and other consequences. Furthermore, students will not be allowed subsequent opportunities to check themselves in. They will have to be accompa-
nied by a parent or guardian.

Do you like adventures in reading? Come to the library Tuesday, December 7th at 7:30 am and let’s talk books! You might be enticed to read someone’s suggestion and you might talk someone into reading your favorite! Come share and get ideas for your next reading venture.

MHS News 11/17/2021

There will be an SGA meeting in Ms. Pastor’s room tomorrow morning, Thursday, Novem-
ber 18 at 7:15am. Donuts will be provided or you can bring your breakfast with you. Enter through front doors and let supervising teachers know you are attending an SGA meeting.

FFA Fruit Sale: To order please see any AG student or Mr. Cottingham. Orders and payment have been extended until tomorrow. Delivery will be Dec. 7.


Tennis tryouts will be held from 3:20-4:40 at the city courts TODAY for boys. .

Any students interested in supporting the baseball team as a Diamond Doll, see Mrs. Parker in room 115.


Parents/ Guardians: As of Monday, Nov. 15 you will begin receiving an automated courtesy call if your child is tardy or absent to school. If you know your child is absent and you don’t receive a call, please contact the school to verify that we have the correct number on file.

There is a Model UN Team meeting today after school in Ms. Pastor’s room from 3-4 pm.
All team members must check Schoology PRIOR to coming to the meeting. Please let Ms.
Pastor know if you cannot make it today.

The Varsity Cheerleaders are competing tomorrow in the AHSAA Regional Cheerleading Competition at the Birmingham Crossplex for the 4A title. The performance is at 4:20p.m. and tickets are available on Go Fan. Come see the performance this afternoon at 3:10p.m. in the MHS Gym! Ticket link: https://gofan.co/ app/events/426625

FCCLA is having a Bake Sale this week benefitting Wreaths Across America. They will be selling brownies for $1; cake pops for $1.50, 4 small cookies for $2.00, and 1 large cookie for $1.00. Orders will be taken during lunch through Thurs. and delivered Friday at the end of 6th period.

The Chiefs’ Challenge is TODAY after school at the football stadium. Sign up sheets will be in the lunchroom -teachers’ table , sign up if you are good enough to take on the challenge!.

BooGrams will be delivered on Friday and the remaining bags will be for sale after lunch on Friday. Money raised will go towards Wreaths Across America!

Girls soccer tryouts will be at the baseball stadium tonight from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

There will be a Model UN meeting after school tomorrow in Ms. Pastor’s room from 3-4:30 pm. Bring your completed and signed Acknowledgment and permission form with you. If you were not able to attend the interest meeting during LEAD on Friday, please see Ms. Pastor in room 107 for information.

School picture proofs are currently being passed out. Orders for pictures are due to Mrs. Fricke by November 2. Pictures can be viewed and ordered through the Belmont website, but the I.D. number from the proof is needed to do so.


The Chiefs’ Challenge is Wednesday after school at the football stadium. Compete in the Police and Fire Physical Challenges to see if you can beat them. For every event entered and completed you will receive a raffle ticket and enter to win an ipad, Beats earbuds, Wireless speaker, or other prizes. See your coach or SRO for a sign up form.

When you see a band member give them a high 5. This weekend they participated in the hardest competition this season. All superior ratings across the board. (Majorette, Colorguard, danceline, drum major, percussion, and overall band.) Alexis Langley received Best in Class for majorette and the 2nd highest score of the day. Band came in 3rd in their division.
