Attention Students: There will be an ACT Workshop this Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Shelby County Instructional Services Center. It will be from 9am-3pm and the cost is $75. All juniors received this information in the mail. Visit www.sycamorelearning.com for more info.
Juniors and Seniors: A representative from the Univ. of Alabama will be in the library Mon., Oct. 6 during 7th period. Interested students should sign up in the Guidance Office.
Seniors: The October edition of the Senior Newsletter is now available and it contains info on important dates, upcom-ing college visits, and scholarships. Check out Ms. Allen’s blog or pick up a copy in the library or Guidance Office.
Seniors: Are you a student with a minimum C+ average who has beaten the odds and made a significant contribution to your family or community? Would you like $60,000 to help toward your education at an Alabama college? If so, you are encouraged to apply for a Smith Foundation Scholarship. Find out more about this scholarship and others in the Oct. Senior Newsletter. Also, be sure to check out the “Scholarship Wall” in the Guidance Office for other scholar-ship applications.
Are you interested in leadership, service, and goodwill then the Interact Club maybe for you. This is a new club starting this year and there will be an information meeting 7th period this Wednesday in Mr. Galloway’s room.

Juniors and Seniors: MHS will have two college visits TODAY. A representative from the Univ. of Alabama- Huntsville will be available during lunch waves. In addition, a representative from the Univ. of West Florida will be in the library during 7th period. Students interested in UWF should sign up in the Guidance Of-fice. Please take advantage of these and other college visits this fall.
Students: The PSAT will be administered on Oct. 15, and it is now time to sign up. The PSAT helps students assess their academic skills and provides valuable feedback that helps with your college planning. For jun-iors, it also serves as the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program. The test fee is $15, and interested students should sign up with Ms. Allen by Oct. 9. Space is limited!

Be reminded that the Blueprints groups will resume today. For today, junior athletes will meet in the PAC in-stead of the library during 7th.

I am a alumni of Montevallo High and the University of Montevallo. I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now. It's exciting to be working at the same school I went to many years ago.
