*TOMORROW IS LATE START! SCHOOL BEGINS AT 8:44 AM. Buses will run as normal                                                                                                            *Area Basketball game tonight against West Blocton. Pep Club bus will leave at 4 pm in front of gym.
*Congratulations to Isabella Howell and Kaylee Smith for being awarded volleyball scholarships to Wallace State Community College in Selma.
*Students are reminded once again that you do not enter the front doors between class change, you must enter the side door. Also, students parking on campus must only park in the upper lot in front of the school or along Oak St. Do not park in front of the Alice Boyd Building!
*Students: MHS will administer the ASVAB test on Thurs. Jan. 22 for any interested students grades 10-12 . Sign up with Ms. Allen by Jan. 16. Space is limited.
*Montevallo’s first Womanless Beauty Pageant. Thursday, January 15 at 6:30 in the PAC. Admission is $5.00. Entry fee is just $10. All entry forms and fees are due by Monday, January 12. See Ms. Turner or any MHS News student for entry forms.
*MHS News will continue to sell Montevallo Spirit Jersey’s until Thurs. The cost is $45. Orders are due to Ms. Turner at MHS by Thursday. Jersey’s will be delivered by Friday, January 23. Email jturner@shelbyed.k12.al.us for more information.
*Seniors: Ms. Allen will soon be ordering diplomas.
*Remember to submit a Graduation Name Card by Jan. 20 if you feel your full name is misspelled on current school records. These records are used to order diplomas and will be used unless you note oth-erwise.
*Any girls interested in trying out for the 2015-2016 cheer team need to attend the mandatory parent meeting on January 22 at 5:45 in the PAC.
*Yearbooks are on sale now through March 3. Order your yearbook to-day. Cost is $40. Please see Ms. Adams, room 112, to order your yearbook

I am a alumni of Montevallo High and the University of Montevallo. I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now. It's exciting to be working at the same school I went to many years ago.
