The Montevallo Day of Pageants will be held Saturday, Feb. 21. If you are interested in becoming the next Mr. or Miss MHS please come by the office and get an entry form or see Mrs. Turner in room 201. All entry forms and payments must be turned in by Friday, Feb. 13. All girls and boys in grades 9-12 may participate.
Juniors: UM will host its Spring College Fair on Friday, Feb. 13 for 11th grade students. Permission forms can be picked up outside Ms. Allen’s door and must be returned by Tuesday, Feb. 10. This will be a great opportunity to begin your college search!
Teachers and Students: All seniors will participate in the statewide administration of the WorkKeys Assessment tomorrow & Wednesday . Groups and lab assignments are posted outside Ms. Allen’s office.
Attention students: After school credit recovery program applications are ude to Ms. Allen by FRIDAY. Forms can be picked up in the main office or guidance office.
Support MHS News and buy a 2015 COUPONS FOR CLASSROOMS book for just $20. The book includes hun-dreds of coupons from businesses throughout Shelby County. Books will be on sale through Friday, February 13.
Auditions for the Shelby County Poetry Players will be held during 7th period on Wednesday and Thursday. New Poetry Players will be announced FRIDAY. Interested actors should pick up an audition form from Mrs. Hinton before Wed.
Come out to Chub’s Grub in Alabaster on February 10 from 5-9 to support the MHS cheerleaders.

Congratulations are in order for Dylan Sanders. He made the Alabama All-State Band through an audition this weekend. This is a tremendous honor! Dylan placed fourth in our district, which earned him a spot in the Ala-bama All-State White Band. He’ll go to Mobile for the All-State Festival in April.
Also, Logan Tatum auditioned an earned an alternate spot for All-State. He placed third in his instrument divi-sion, which earned the alternate spot. He will go to All-State if any of the two above him cannot attend.
These results also place both Dylan and Logan in the Alabama Bandmasters District IV Honor Band, to be held in March. You can only be in this honor band if you try out for All-State.
Both of these placements are prestigious and only earned through diligent practice and hard work.
