*Flu Mist permission forms are due by Oct. 5. Please turn in to the front office or the nurse. Flu Mist vaccines will be given on Oct. 14, 2015.
*School day picture orders are due to Ms. Adams, room 115, by Sept. 30.
Picture make-up day is next Monday, Sept. 28.
*Students: Are you interested in a career in the medical field? If so, Shelby Baptist will have the kick-off meeting for the Health Explorers program this tomorrow night at 6:00. See Ms. Allen for more information.
*Students: Ms. Allen is now registering students for the PSAT that will be administered on Oct. 14. For juniors, the PSAT serves as the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program and could prove extremely beneficial for students who take advantage of the opportunity. Tenth grade students are encouraged to sign up as well. Space is limited and the test fee is $15. Interested stu-dents should register by Oct. 8.
*Seniors: Ms. Allen is now working on submissions for the Fox 6/ America’s First Rising Star Program. Nominated students must have a minimum 3.5 and a record of extracurricular involvement. Finalists have the potential to earn scholarship money. Interested students should submit a resume to Ms. Allen by mid-October.
*Juniors: Youth Leadership Shelby County is seeking self-motivated, socially conscientious students to be part of this year’s program. Applications are now being accepted and must be returned to Ms. Allen by Sept. 30. Students who are selected must attend a mandatory leadership retreat Nov. 1 & 2.
*Juniors and Seniors : A representative from Herzing University will be on campus TOMORROW to meet with interested students. The session will be in the library during 7th period. Sign up in the Guidance Office.
*REMINDER: All students who have been invited to the Shelby County Student Leadership Conference need their signed and completed permission forms in to Mrs. Pastor TODAY

I am a alumni of Montevallo High and the University of Montevallo. I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now. It's exciting to be working at the same school I went to many years ago.
