*The Alabama Shakespeare Festival will be on our campus today performing Comedy of Errors in the PAC from 6th period through 7th period. Tickets are only $6. You may purchase your ticket during 2nd period.
*Juniors and Seniors: A representative from the University of Alabama will be on campus tomorrow during 7th period in the library. Interested students should sign-up in the Guidance Office.
*Do you need community service hours? The city is looking for volunteers for the upcoming Art Walk on October 31st. The event runs from 2-6, but they will have artists set up from probably 11:30-1:30 that may need help then. See Mrs. Glover for contact information.
*If you have been invited to attend the Students Institute this Friday, you need to turn in your permission slip to Mrs. Pastor by Wednesday, October 21st.
*Attention 10th Grade Students: You are invited to take part in a field trip to the Shelby County College & Career Center on Nov. 12 in order to tour the campus and find out more about the exciting career tech programs that are available. Permission forms will be available in your history classes this week and completed forms are due back to Ms. Allen by Nov. 6 – No exceptions.
*This Friday will be hat day for United Way. Pay $2 to wear your hat all day at school and help support the United Way in our community.
*Any student interested in trying out for the soccer team, please stop by Coach Harvie’s room (room 202) today or tomorrow.

*Attention Students Scheduled to Take the PSAT: The PSAT will be administered today in Mrs. Eades classroom. Students will be called shortly after morning announcements so please report promptly. Be reminded that you can bring a calculator, but no cell phones or electronic devices will be allowed in the test room.

*No outside food or drinks are allowed on campus. (this means fast food/restaurant food) Students may still bring a lunch from home

*All members of the wrestling team need to meet in Coach Davidson’s room at the beginning of 7th period. Please bring all ticket stubs and money collected thus far for the fund raiser.

*Congratulations to Trace Irwin, Tamera Fletcher and Daniel Whitson who represented the Montevallo Cross Country team at the Helena Invitational this past Saturday. All three runners beat their personal record for time!

*Are you good at writing poetry or reciting poetry? If so, enter the Poetry Out Loud National Recitation Contest. MHS is looking for the top 4 poetry writers and readers to represent our school at the Regional Contest in Tuscaloosa. To enter, choose a poem from the Poetry Out Loud website, and then read it with expression to Mrs. Hinton or Mrs. Howard. Last day to en-ter is Thursday, October 15th.

*Late start TOMORROW Bell rings at 8:45am Buses will run at the normal time Friday’s Pep Rally is a PINK OUT to support Breast Cancer Awareness and to cheer on the Bulldogs to their next Victory. The Spirit Line will form behind Jack’s at 5.
*The Troubadours again performed a great show and earned an overall Superior rating at the Sand Mountain Invitational at Boaz High School this past Saturday! The band score average of 92.4 earned us eighth place overall, regardless of classification. The students did a great job! They will compete for the final time this Saturday at Hanceville High School.
*Juniors and Sophomores: There are only a few remaining seats for the PSAT! The registration deadline is TOMORROW
*We will be having Blood Drive on Oct.16 Students will preregister on the 15th during lunch
