Bells will be off today due to testing. When the class changes for 2nd period all students checking out and going to the game should report directly to the PAC. When you are released to go you must sign out on the forms located in the lobby.

There will be no outside eating this week at the picnic tables.

All senior ads are due no later than Mon., Feb 29, to be included in the yearbook. Seniors need to turn in a baby or toddler picture and a current picture to Ms. Adams by Mon., Feb 29 to be included in the Then & Now section of the yearbook. Pictures may be emailed.

Cap & Gown pictures will be made this Friday.

Seniors: MHS will hold a FAFSA Completion event on Thurs., March 3 where you and/or your parents will have an opportunity to get help completing your FAFSA. However, you must sign up in advance with Ms. Allen to secure your appointment time. See Ms. Allen, or have your parents contact her, by Feb. 25.

AP Students: Keep in mind that your AP Exam fees are due to Ms. Allen by March 7. All AP students are required to take the AP Exam.

Prom tickets on sale through March 11th. Juniors and Seniors will receive invitations in your history classes with the event details and ticket prices. You may also visit Mrs. Eades blog for more information.

Attention students in grades 10 & 11 your course selection packets are due by Feb. 29 to Ms. Allen. Remember that many courses will require teacher approval.

Attention Junior Leaders: Would you like to enhance your leadership potential? If so, see Ms. Allen about the JSU Emerging Leaders Day which will be held on March 15. Spaces are limited!

All of Mrs. Harvie’s and Mrs. Wayman’s classes will meet in the PAC this week.

Seniors: Ms. Allen has added 4 new downloadable scholarship applications to her blog including opportunities from Omega Psi Xi Fraternity, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Be sure to check them out. More scholarships will be included in the March Senior Newsletter.

Seniors: Our superintendent has been given the opportunity to award a $1000 scholarship to a deserving student. Any interested student should write a brief essay explaining why you’d be a worthy recipient and submit it, along with a resume, to Ms. Allen by Mon., Feb. 29.

Students: Are you interested in an apprenticeship in plumbing, pipefitting, welding, or refrigeration fitting? If so, the UA Local 91 Apprentice School is accepting applications for paid apprenticeships. Find out how to apply by visiting Ms. Allen’s Counselor’s Corner blog.

Students: The University of Montevallo is offering an ACT Prep Camp for rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students May 31-June 3 and again June 6-June 9. The registration fee is $125 per session with partial scholarships available for children of UM employees and students with financial need. Visit Ms. Allen’s blog for registration info.
