*Congratulations to both our boys’ & girls’ basketball teams & coaches for a great season!

*Prom tickets on sale through March 11th.
*Attention students in grades 10 & 11 your course selection packets are due MONDAY to Ms. Allen.
*February’s Community Service hours are due Thursday of next week. Be sure to get your forms completed and turned in. If you turn in 5 hours of service, you can be rewarded with Dominos pizza. Last month we even had their awesome marbled cookie brownie J!
*Seniors: The March edition of the Senior Newsletter is now available and can be downloaded from Ms. Allen’s blog or picked up in the library or guidance office.
*Are you a senior set to attend Jeff State this fall? If so, you are invited to register for one of their upcoming preview days on March 11 or March 25. You must register on-line to attend.
*Juniors & Seniors: A representative from Judson College will be here on Tues., March 1 during 7th period in the library to meet with interested young ladies. Sign up in the Guidance Office if you want to learn more about what they have to offer.
*All senior ads are due Mon., Feb 29, to be included in the yearbook. Seniors need to turn in a baby or toddler pic-ture and a current picture to Ms. Adams by Mon., Feb 29 to be included in the Then & Now section of the year-book. Pictures may be emailed.
*AP Students: Keep in mind that your AP Exam fees are due to Ms. Allen by March 7. All AP students are required to take the AP Exam.
*Attention Junior Leaders: Would you like to enhance your leadership potential? If so, see Ms. Allen about the JSU Emerging Leaders Day which will be held on March 15. Spaces are limited!
Students: The University of Montevallo is offering an ACT Prep Camp for rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grade stu-dents May 31-June 3 and again June 6-June 9. The registration fee is $125 per session with partial scholarships available for children of UM employees and students with financial need. Visit Ms. Allen’s blog for registration info.
*Seniors: Ms. Allen has added 4 new downloadable scholarship applications to her blog including opportunities from Omega Psi Xi Fraternity, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Be sure to check them out. More schol-arships will be included in the March Senior Newsletter.
*Seniors: Our superintendent has been given the opportunity to award a $1000 scholarship to a deserving student. Any interested student should write a brief essay explaining why you’d be a worthy recipient and submit it, along with a resume, to Ms. Allen by Mon., Feb. 29.
*Students: Are you interested in an apprenticeship in plumbing, pipefitting, welding, or refrigeration fitting? If so, the UA Local 91 Apprentice School is accepting applications for paid apprenticeships. Find out how to apply by visiting Ms. Allen’s Counselor’s Corner blog.

I am a alumni of Montevallo High and the University of Montevallo. I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now. It's exciting to be working at the same school I went to many years ago.
