Senior cap and gown picture orders are due this Friday, March 18. Turn in to Ms. Adams, room 115

The Academic Decathlon will be all day next Friday, March 25th,. Be sure to sign up in the lunchroom to participate or watch. No money will be collected on Friday so be sure to sign up before then. Help your class win, sign up to play! All money raised will go to Muscular Dystrophy.

Play: $3 Academics, $3 Athletics or $5 to play both

Watch: $2 Academics, $2 Athletics or $4 to watch both

Juniors and Seniors: A representative from Alabama A&M University will be on campus today to meet with interested students. Sign up in the Guidance Office if you’d like to hear more about what A&M has to offer.

Peer Helper will be promoting COLORSPEAKS this week. They will be collecting coloring books and /or markers for one of our local child advocacy agencies. Students who donate will have their names entered in a drawing to win a number of prizes!

Seniors: Ms. Allen has added more scholarships to her blog including information on choir scholarships available at Jeff State as well as scholarships from the Ora Jones Foundation and Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology.

Attention Juniors: MHS is seeking motivated, civic-minded student leaders to represent at Alabama Boys State and Alabama Girls State this summer. Interested students should see Ms. Allen for more info on how to be selected.

Attention Students: Students currently in grades 9-11 have the opportunity to participate in the 7th Annual Alabama Lions High School Leadership Forum to be held at Troy University this summer. Interested students should see Ms. Allen for more information.

Attention rising Juniors and Seniors: The Walsh Academy of Leadership will be held this summer at American Village and the University of Montevallo. Pick up a flyer in the Guidance office or check Ms. Allen’s blog to learn how to apply. Ac-cepted students will automatically have a spot in the Youth Leadership Development Program this fall!

I am a alumni of Montevallo High and the University of Montevallo. I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now.
