MHS News 4/13/2016

*Students: Please be aware that during ASPIRE testing thru tomorrow , both the library and Alice Boyd building will be closed to students before school. All students will be expected to report to the cafeteria each morning. SCCCC students are on regular schedule. Friday will be a regular school day.
*Attention AP Students: Please remember that your AP exam fees must be paid to Ms. Allen as soon as possible. The final deadline for AP exam, as well as other fees, is April 22.
*Seniors: Please remember to give Ms. Allen copies of any scholarship award letters you receive. There are a number of scholarships with upcoming deadlines. Be sure to check the Counselor’ Corner blog for application infor-mation.
*Only 7 MHS t-shirts (blue) available. Cost is $10 each. Please come by the main office if you are interested in purchasing. Sizes limited
*The Montevallo Moonlight Players present Murder on Sorority Row, an original play by our own Mary How-ard. Tickets will be $5 and help support theatre at Montevallo High School. Moonlight Player after school rehearsal this week today and tomorrow until 4:30.
*Attention Juniors: The statewide ACT +Writing will be administered on Tues., April 19 to all 11th grade students. You are encouraged to get to school on time and be ready to test. Remember also that cell phones and digital devices will not be allowed in the test site and the policy will be strongly enforced. Your teachers can give you information on your testing locations.
*The only seniors who will have permission to check in at 10:30 are those with zero first term and 3rd nine week fail-ures and fewer than 10 unexcused absences. Only those students will be placed on the sign-in sheet.
*No first priority tomorrow due to testing.
*Congratulations ! Kelli Sellers wins the 2016 Alabama High School Literary Arts Awards and Scholarship Competi-tion (HSLAA) and is honored at the state capitol. Attention Juniors: The ACT Plus Writing will be administered to all juniors on April 19. Ms. Allen will be in your classrooms to conduct the pre-session this week.

Students and Teachers: All 10th grade students will take part in state-wide ASPIRE testing next week, April 11-14. Sophomores will follow regular schedule, and it will be extremely important that you report to school on time each day for testing. Only grades 9, 11, & 12 will be following a late-start schedule.

There will be a meeting today during 7th period in the PAC for anyone interested in playing football.

Ok students…It’s time to take over the bragging rights from faculty! Faculty says they can’t be beat! There will be a student/faculty basketball game on Thurs. $5 to play See Coach D if you are interested in playing. $2 to watch Pay during lunch

Volunteer hours for the month of March need to be turned in to your history teacher by tomorrow. This will be the last time volunteer hours will be collected for the Community Service Project sponsored by the National Honor Society. Names will be drawn for prizes from those who have turned in their hours each month.

Senior Future Teachers will report to the university at 2:15 today.

Any senior wanting to work on their portfolio, Alice Boyd Computer lab will be open Sunday, April 10th, at 1:00

Calculus study session is Sunday, April 10th, at 2:00
