MHS is observing National Red Ribbon Week which is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation. Peer Helpers ask you to join us this Friday by wearing RED and pledging to be drug free. There’s a sweet treat waiting for those who join us in Red on Friday!!!

MHS will once again be participating in Alabama College Application Campaign Week beginning Monday. Nov. 1st & 2nd will be application days for seniors, and Nov. 3 will be a day for students and parents to get help completing the FAFSA. Students and/or parents should contact Ms. Allen to set up an appointment time for FAFSA help.

School-wide Competition for Poetry Out Loud will be held Thursday, October 27th, after school from 3-4 p.m. Four winners will be chosen: two winners from the Anthology and two winners in Poetry Writing. These four people will advance to District Competition in Tuscaloosa, Alabama this November.

Attention Junior & Senior Female Students: A representative from Judson College will be on campus TOMORROW during senior GPS in the library. Interested young ladies should sign up in the guidance office.

Attention Students: Tuesday, Nov. 1 will be College Pride Day at MHS. Be prepared to rep the gear of your favorite college or university!

Sophomores: Remember that Mon., Oct. 31 is the deadline to submit your essay to Ms. Allen if you are interested in representing MHS at the HOBY Leadership Seminar in 2017.

I am a alumni of Montevallo High and the University of Montevallo. I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now.
