MHS News 2/22/2017

Today, 2/22, the MHS Boys Basketball team will play Midfield at 2:15 at the Alabama State gymnasium in Montgomery. Any student wishing to leave school and attend must be checked out by a parent or guardian listed on the student’s check out list, as students must provide their own transportation to the event. The person checking them out will sign a document that will serve as an excuse for afternoon classes.

Would you like to be apart of a big family? Do you want to show off your dancing skills, twirl a baton, or toss a flag? Marching Troubadours Auxiliary Try-outs – March 3rd thru the 10th. See Mrs. Cabrera or Mr. Rogers for details.

FREE ACT Math Study Session to Juniors on Saturday, March 11th, 9-12. Sign up with Mrs. Cabrera. The Montevallo Sister City Commission is looking for student travelers. The MSCC is organizing a trip to our sister city Echizen Town, Japan around July 1 until July 10, 2017. (Dates may change) If your family is interested in sending a student age 13-16, please email MontevalloSisterCity@gmail.com to receive an application or ask questions. Applications deadline March 3. Applications also available in the main office.

Attention Seniors: The Shelby County Education Support Professionals Association is offering two $250 scholarships for seniors who have immediate family members in SCESP. Find out more about this scholarship and others on Ms. Allen’s blog and be sure to check out the scholarship wall for copies of printed applications.

Students: If you signed up to get an account for the ACT Online Prep program, please remember to see Ms. Allen for your account info so that you can begin taking advantage of the program. If you did not sign up and would like to get access, another sign-up sheet has been placed outside Ms. Allen’s office.

If you would like to earn community service hours, the UM Track and Field team is looking for volunteers to help with an even March 24 & 25. Email cbalentine@montevallo.edu for more information.
