Random Acts Of Kindness for today’s challenge is “say more positive things than negative things today”

Attention Students: The Equal Justice Initiative is offering scholarship prizes to Shelby County students in grades 9-12 who submit winning essays for their Racial Justice Essay Contest. The entry deadline is March 20. See your English teacher or visit Ms. Allen’s Counselor’s Corner Blog for more info.


Attention Students: Friday, Feb. 21 is the deadline to submit your 2020 Course Selection Forms to Ms. Allen. It is extremely important that you turn in your class selections by this date!

Attention AP Students: Remember that your AP Exam Fee balances are due to Ms. Allen by Friday, March 6!

Cheerleading tryouts will be held Friday, March 20th from 3:30 pm until each girl finishes. Clinic will be held March 16th-19th in the MHS gym from 3:15-5:00. If anyone is interested in trying out for cheer, please get a packet from Ms. Beck.

There will also be an interest meeting on Tuesday, February 18th at 6:00 pm in the MHS library for any students interested and their parents. All tryout paperwork and fees are due Monday, March 2nd to Ms. Beck in order to be eligible to tryout.

Audition information for the Marching Troubadours Majorettes, Danceline, and Colorguard are available in the office. Try-outs begin Monday, Feb. 24th. See Mr. Kirkland or Mrs. Cabrera for more information.

Attention Girls in Grades 9 & 10: Registration is now open for Girls Can Camp! It is a summer construction camp for girls that features carpentry, welding, pipefitting, and electrical fields. It will be held June 8 – 12 at CTech in Columbiana. Pick up an application from the guidance suite.

I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now.
