*Coin Drop & Canned Food Drive containers located in your English classes through tomorrow.
*FTA will be sponsoring a Homecoming Dance – tomorrow night in the café. Beginning after the game until midnight. Cost is $10. Come join us after the game to continue to celebrate homecoming!
*Tomorrow is Spirit Day. Make sure you follow dress code when you wear your home-coming t-shirt OR something black in order to BLACK OUT THE BEARS!
*Grade level DODGEBALL tournament tomorrow afternoon, tickets to watch teams play will only be on sale during lunch. Tickets are $2.00 Grade level walls will be judged dur-ing the tournament.
*The HC parade will start at 6 pm tonight, with a community pep rally following in the sta-dium. Float line-up will be on Valley St. at 5 pm. Floats will be judges at 5:30.
*Attention Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentors: There will be a mandatory match meeting on Monday, Sept. 21 during 7th period in the PAC.
*Come join the spirit line on Friday behind jacks to cheer on the bulldogs to their 5th victo-ry for homecoming. The line will begin at 5 with the players walking through at 5:15″
*”Spirit shakers for $1 and noise makers for $2 are on sale now by the cheerleaders. Show your spirit at the pep rally and game and stop by Mrs. Asbury’s room to purchase.”
*Tickets on sale during lunch today to watch the volleyball tournament this afternoon. $2.00

Wednesday’s Tacky Tourist Skit totals are as follows:
1st place: Sophomores/ 2nd place –Seniors / 3rd place-Juniors / 4th place – Freshmen
Please note that Homecoming Point totals are based off the following point system:
1st place – 4 pts, 2nd place– 3 pts, 3rd place- 2 pts, 4th place- 1 pt
It is a 3 way tie for first place for HC! Current Class totals by grade level:
Seniors: Mon-1pt/Tues-3pts/Wed-3pts = 7pts
Juniors: Mon-1pt/ Tues-4pts/ Wed-2pts = 7pts
Soph: Mon-1pt/ Tues-2pts/ Wed-4pts = 7pts
Fresh: Mon-1pt/ Tues-1pt/ Wed-1pt = 3 pts
Competitions still remaining: Volleyball,Dodgeball, Floats, Pep Rally Spirit, Walls, Coin Drop, Canned Food Drive! It is still anyone’s game!!!!!!
*Seniors: Ms. Allen is now working on submissions for the Fox 6/ America’s First Rising Star Program. Nominated students must have a minimum 3.5 and a record of extracurricular involvement. Finalists have the potential to earn scholarship money. Interested students should submit a resume to Ms. Allen by mid-October.
*Juniors: Youth Leadership Shelby County is seeking self-motivated, socially conscien-tious students to be part of this year’s program. Applications are now being accepted and must be returned to Ms. Allen by Sept. 30. Students who are selected must attend a man-datory leadership retreat Nov. 1 & 2.

I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now.
