Congratulations to the MHS Baseball team for clinching the 2016-17 playoffs. Come out Thursday as they play an important game against Montgomery Academy. Students admitted free!

“The MHS soccer program is holding a used athletic gear drive. If you have any old equipment from any sport, from golf balls to tennis rackets to baseball bats, bring it in to Coach Niven or Coach Cooley’s room or place it in one of the drop off points located throughout the school. All donated gear will help support the soccer program.”

Sr. supply orders will be delivered tomorrow morning in the cafeteria before school.

It’s time to show that MHS has talent! The MHS Choral Department is presenting the MHS Talent Show on the afternoon of April 24th in the PAC. Admission will be $5. Auditions for the talent show will be on April 11th during your GPS Time. Please see or email Mr. Banks for more information. $10 to audition.

Boys basketball tryouts Tuesday April 18th & Wednesday 19th , from 3:15-5:00. You will need a current physical . Please see Coach D or Coach Nelson for more information.

AP Students: Please remember that AP fees are due. The final deadline for all fees is April 14.

Seniors: Please remember to give Ms. Allen copies of any scholarship award letters you receive.

Seniors: The Ora Jones Foundation has scholarships available to deserving students that hold a minimum 2.5 GPA. Application information can be found on Ms. Allen’s blog or you can visit orajonesfoundation.org. The deadline is April 30.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: A representative from the Univ of North Alabama will be on campus TOMORROW during senior GPS in the library. Sign up in the guidance office to find out what UNA has to offer.

The Montevallo FFA Chapter and Alumni will be holding our annual Farm Day event this weekend. Friday, April 14th. All MES students will attend a day of agriculturally related activities. Saturday, April 15th (9:30- 2:00) will be open to the public for a great community event. Boston Butts will be sold until they run out.

Attention rising juniors and seniors: MHS is now taking applications for the 2017-2018 Big Brothers Big Sisters program. We need responsible and compassionate students to serve as mentors for next year’s effort. See Ms. Allen for an application today.

I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now.
