Students created their own USERNAME & PASSWORD today during class for their online textbook. Each student has a brightly colored piece of paper with the instructions on how to log into their textbook. Please ask your student to see this piece of paper as it is the ONLY RECORD of their USERNAME & PASSWORD! Please keep it in a safe place as you will need to use this whenever they have homework from the textbook!

We love rounding decimals! Students reminded me of their rounding chant today in class, “if it’s five or more, up the score……if it’s four or less, let it rest”! These are the universal guidelines for rounding. Students worked many examples with me in class today to ensure their understanding and accuracy.

Students began reviewing place value today in class. Place value charts were glued into student’s math notebooks but the same place value chart was given to them as part of their homework as well.

Students are working on consistently drawing tessellations for the next two days in class! We explored some of the math behind tessellations and students are finding them surprisingly harder to draw than they think!
NO HOMEWORK for MONDAY, MAY 19th
Students on the Blue Team began their 2nd Semester Benchmark Exam today! This test is sent to us from the county and this one is long! For this reason, students will be given 2 class periods to complete the exam and check back over their answers.
Parents, please encourage your student to take a few minutes to look back over their exam and double-check their answers on Friday, May 16th.
Study guides were checked today in class! Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and correct their work to ensure understanding.
Homework for Tuesday night will be completion of the study guide, specifically pages 4, 5, and 6.
Study guides will be taken up prior to the exam on Thursday, so please make sure you bring them with you to class!!

Our Benchmark Exam in math is scheduled for this Thursday, May 15th, and Friday, May 16th.
In preparation for this exam, students began working on a study guide today in class. I encouraged them to utilize a terrific resource that’s right at their fingertips…..their math notebook!!!!
We will go over these problems in class tomorrow to correct any misunderstanding and ensure accuracy. Pages 1, 2 and 3 of the study guide are due Tuesday in class.
